Chelsea In Talks To Sign Unai Emery’s Top Arsenal Transfer Target, Seri

Chelsea FC are preparing to begin talks with Nice midfielder, Jean-Michael Seri, despite Arsenal pushing to make the 26-year-old their first summer signing.

The Gunners boss, Unai Emery, who was desperate to bring Seri to Paris Saint-Germain, has pleaded with Arsenal’s chiefs to trigger his £35million release clause and make the Ivory Coast international their first signing of the transfer window.

Evening Standard, UK, reports that “contract talks with Seri’s representatives and Arsenal over a summer move have been made for the Ivory Coast international, who is valued by his French club at around £40million.”

However, according to Le 10 Sport, Chelsea are now set to begin talks with Nice so as to land Seri to Stamford Bridge.

According to the newspaper, the Blues were named as part of a group of clubs monitoring the midfielder’s situation, though the Gunners were thought to be the front-runners.

Seri almost joined Barcelona last summer, with Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo, reporting then that the imminent arrival of Seri “in no case dismisses the arrival of Coutinho. On the contrary, they are considered complementary players, since they are different players, and the intention of the club is to have both in the squad.”

While Manchester United have been among the European heavyweights linked with interest in securing his services, If Pogba indeed leaves Old Trafford for the second time in his career, the Premier League giants are expected to make a move for Jean Michael Seri
